On Windows, most drivers support it though: Open the playback devices menu (tap Win key and type Sound, or right click the speaker icon in the tray double click on your output device, open the Enhancements tab, and select Speaker Fill.
However for regular stereo audio sources, sound only comes out of my left and right speaker, no center or surround left/right.
